After some 3D printing, I decided to get out to my favorite restaurant. It was -2°C in the morning, but warmed up to 8°C where I was heading—perfect temperatures for a bike ride. The classic burger at this place is the best I've had in 65 years, and I took a full hour to think that over. Wagyu beef (with a hint of pink, though barely visible), fresh local buns, slightly bitter lettuce, a thick slice of tomato, cheddar cheese, homemade pickles, onions, mayo, and old-fashioned mustard. It checks every box.
After the meal, I wandered over to the deli for dessert and met Deborah, who had just come in from Colorado. I only clocked about 25 miles on the ride—not much, but still worth it. Along the way, I spotted a snow squirrel (a rare sight) and some wary turkeys keeping their distance. I made it back with just a few drops of rain hitting the plane.
I usually keep food photos private out of respect for those who struggle with eating. But it was a great couple of hours. My weight has dropped into the 170s (I'm 6 feet tall), mostly because I stick to a 6-hour eating window from 12 to 6 p.m. I eat whatever I want during that time, but only then. Stay healthy, eat less.
This was the first trip out with the new Zizzo Liberte. Over the past month, I've taken all four of my Zizzos on plane-bike packing trips. If I'm flying, chances are there's a bike in the back. I go through a bike bag about once a year. I prefer thin-material bike bags since they pack better. I noticed the new Rhino bag (same make) now uses a different internal material. Maybe this one will last a bit longer.
